NATURE STATION
Join the Nature Station staff on a 1-mile hike through the woods and to the lakeshore to discover animal signs. We will look for tracks, homes, and other evidence that the animals left. *Ideal for Home Educators. Program free with NS admission.

Join us for a 1-mile guided hike to explore the changing colors of trees and look for signs of wildlife preparing for winter. Program free to all LBL visitors. Meet at Nature Station.

A Bountiful Walk

Ever wonder if that bright red berry growing on a wild plant is edible? There are wild nuts, fruits, and seeds hanging everywhere. During this 1-mile guided walk, we will discover which plants bear fruits and nuts and if they are eaten by people or animals. Program free with NS admission.

Kids Fossil Field Trip
GOLDEN POND VISITOR CENTER
Let's go on a fossil search! We'll take you to a rocky shoreline where we can find all sorts of fossils, including crinoids, bryozoans, and ancient clams. While we climb around on the giant rocks and do some fun activities, you will learn how to spot fossils and figure out how they got here. Involves some walking and climbing on rocky terrain. *Ideal for Home Educators. Program is free to LBL visitors. Space is limited. Registration required. Call 270-924-2020 to reserve your space. Fort Henry Anniversary Walk
FT. HENRY TRAIL
147 years ago, the land between the rivers was bracing for war. Confederate forces occupied Fort Henry with federal forces moving up the Tennessee River. Relive the events before and during the siege of Fort Henry on this guided walk around the remnants of Fort Henry's outer fortification. Dress for the weather, waterproof footgear recommended, and moderate walking required. Program free to LBL visitors. Meet at Fort Henry Hiking Trail Parking Lot.
