Winter is the peak season for LBL Bald Eagle viewing! Both our year-round resident eagles and visiting winter “snowbirds” are out looking for fish around the lakes. Spend the day visiting some of LBL’s eagle-viewing hot spots during this staff-led tour. We will share tips on how to spot bald eagles in the wild and zoom in with spotting scopes for a closer look.

During the “Northern LBL Eagle Tour” tour from 1:30-5pm, discover the hidden bays and shorelines where Kentucky’s largest raptor hunts prey, catches ridgetop thermals, and begins its courtship rituals.

Monday, January 21, Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area will waive fees at participating day-use facilities in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  The Elk & Bison Prairie will be free and Wranglers Campground will also be waiving day-use riding fees.
