| HISTORIC HOT SPOTS

fall of Fort Henry as they marched on Fort Donelson.
Center Furnace Trail. The region's history as a center for iron production
is interpreted on this easy walk. See the huge Center Furnace ruins and the massive charcoal furnace.
Old farmhouses, homesteads and cemeteries recall the time before LBL became
a National Recreation Area -- when towns such as Mint Spring, Tennessee

the Fort Henry Trail.
