If you enter Land Between The Lakes from our northern entrance, be sure to stop at the North Welcome Station for information and maps about LBL and the surrounding region. Hillman Ferry Campground offers 378 campsites for a variety of camping from tents to large motor homes. Basic, electric, water, and sewer sites are available. Campers have access to modern facilities, including a large swimming area, archery range, ball field, bike trails, campfire amphitheater, hiking trails, two boat ramps, picnic tables, and fire rings. Energy Lake Campground offers 48 campsites with 35 electrical hookups capable of handling tents or motor homes. Energy Lake offers a variety of activities and can accommodate groups, families and other campers. Elk & Bison Prairie is a drive-through wildlife viewing area offering a look at the restoration of a native prairie and the wildlife that live there. Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area is a designated area for OHV riding and camping. Turkey Bay offers a variety of topography and trails for everyone. The area consists of about 100 miles of primary, secondary, and tertiary trails for different levels of OHV riding. Camping areas, chemical toilets, and drinking water are available. Open year-round. Wranglers Campground offers 205 campsites and 12 primitive cabins. Wranglers is a specialized camping facility which provides year-round opportunities for horseback riding and wagon driving enthusiasts. Services include an activity court, showers, guided trail rides, and other services. Wranglers Outpost offers limited camping and equestrian supplies and food service. Open year-round. At The Homeplace 19th century living history farm, echoes of the past come alive with a historical farm buildings and demonstrations. Special programs and events are scheduled throughout the year. The South Bison Range herd roams two adjacent 90-acre pastures alongside The Trace. This herd’s size normally ranges between 35 to 60 bison. A horse and hiking trail borders the South Bison Range, allowing visitors the chance to see bison when they can't be viewed from view the main road. Brandon Spring, a year-round overnight facility on the shores of Lake Barkley, provides the perfect atmosphere for all your group gatherings. Work with our staff to develop "Explore and Learn" activities for your group focusing on topics such as wildlife, orienteering, outdoor survival, natural sciences and outdoor recreation; or you can create your own activities using our many amenities. Piney Campground offers 384 campsites with 281electrical hookups, 44 sites with electric, water, and sewer, and 59 primitive sites. Campers have access to modern facilities, including a beach and swimming area, archery range, ball field, bike trails, a campfire theater, hiking trails, two boat ramps, and a fishing pier. Piney has 9 primitive cabins available for nightly rental in the campground. In addition, the summer season will offer daily recreation programs for all ages.
