LEGAL NOTICE
USDA Forest Service, Southern Region
On December 1, 2004, Regional Forester Robert T. Jacobs issued a Record of
Decision (ROD) for the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the
Land and Resource Management Plan (Area Plan) for Land Between The Lakes
National Recreation Area (LBL). The Area Plan describes the strategic
vision, goals, objectives, standards, and suitable land uses for LBL in
Stewart County in TN, and Trigg and Lyon Counties in KY. Alternative Y
from the FEIS was developed into the Area Plan. This Area Plan satisfies
the provisions of the Land Between The Lakes Protection Act of 1998, which
transferred the management of LBL from TVA to the Forest Service.
Copies of the ROD and Supplement documents are available from the USDA
Forest Service, ATTN: Barbara Wysock, Area Planner, 100 Van Morgan Drive,
Golden Pond, KY, 42211. The Decision and Supplements are posted on the
internet at the following Internet web site: www.lbl.org (click on
planning).
The Decision may be appealed in accordance with 36 CFR 217 by filing a
written Notice of Appeal, in duplicate, within 90 days of the publication
of this Notice. An appeal notice must be submitted in writing clearly
stating that it is a Notice of Appeal being filed pursuant to 36 CFR 217.
